Singapore

[edit]

@Justinrleung I don't have a video for that. I just asked someone who knows how to speak Teochew, and that's how he pronounced it. The dog2 (talk) 03:26, 30 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

@The dog2: Hmm, so it's [ɔ] rather than [ou]? — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 03:28, 30 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Justinrleung: That's how he pronounced it. That said, Teochew is his third language, and he is a native Hokkien speaker, though it is common for people of that age to be proficient in multiple dialects. Singaporean Teochew does have a strong Hokkien influence, so I won't be surprised if some pronunciation gets carried over from Hokkien, just like in 紅毛. @The dog2: Ideally, especially for pronunciations, I think we need native speakers. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 03:35, 30 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
