Xiamen and Zhangzhou Pronunciation

@Justinrleung The pronunciation of this entry in 闽南方言大词典 is different. It's tā-po͘ and chā-po͘ respectively in Xiamen and Zhangzhou. Which one's correct? --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 12:10, 8 January 2018 (UTC)

@Mar vin kaiser It's a tone sandhi problem. Minnan Fangyan Da Cidian doesn't show tone sandhi for this word, probably because they wanted to show that 丈夫 is the 本字. — justin(r)leung _{{ (t...) | c=› }} 12:44, 8 January 2018 (UTC)

@Mar vin kaiser I've checked with the recordings in 闽南方言大词典 and 閩南話漳腔辭典. The Xiamen reading sounds like ta-po͘, and the Zhangzhou recordings sound like cha-po͘. — justin(r)leung _{{ (t...) | c=› }} 05:33, 9 January 2018 (UTC)

Teochew

@Suzukaze-c: May I confirm that there exist both da1 bou1 and da2 bou1 in Teochew? da1 bou1 is already here, but 林倫倫 lists only da2 bou1. RcAlex36 (talk) 10:24, 9 June 2019 (UTC)

Honestly, I have little understanding of Teochew tones (and Teochew in general), so I can't tell you anything from personal experience. :( I could try to consult some reference works later, though. —Suzukaze-c◇◇ 19:14, 9 June 2019 (UTC)
