Why is the "bu" 4th tone, rather than 2nd tone? It is followed by 4th tone, so shouldn't it be 2nd tone? — This unsigned comment was added by 66.60.126.246 (talk).

@66.60.126.246 You are right, it is pronounced with the second tone in this word. However, Pinyin orthography (4.11.1 on the last page) dictates that all tones in Pinyin are the original tones of syllables, not taking into account the effect of tone sandhi, hence the 4th tone here. If you click on "[Expand]" inside the pronunciation box, you can see the phonetic Pinyin has the second tone. Wyang (talk) 07:58, 14 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
