"Internet fiction"

[edit]

@Suzukaze-c – Is this term primarily used by fans to describe a trope in fan fiction? Then the "fandom slang" label might be the appropriate choice. If it's a term used to describe a trope in commercially-released Chinese fiction, then the "Chinese fiction" label might be a better option. Compare to Category:en:Japanese fiction. There's inevitably going to be some crossover in labelling and categorization. Some tropes feature in both fanworks and commercially-released fiction. In any case, "Internet fiction" is a bit ambiguous, seeing as it could apply to everything from pro stories published in online magazines, to fanfic on Archive of Our Own, to creepypastas posted on 4chan. No idea, but judging from the sentences, it seems to be a beloved turn of phrase, and not a name for a trope. Thanks for the pointers; maybe someone who knows more about "Chinese serial novels" can refer to this note in the future. —Suzukaze-c (talk) 06:50, 21 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
