's Jin IPA seems to be specifically for the Changsha dialect, which seems to be a dialect of new Xiang; what is the "old-style" pronunciation? —suzukaze (t・c) 04:25, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
- They are both Changsha dialect. See 长沙话#新老派差异 for details. — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 04:31, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
- I see. Does that mean that the English Wikipedia page is lacking? —suzukaze (t・c) 04:44, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
- It is lacking in comparison with the Chinese Wikipedia page, but AFAIK, it's not wrong to say that the Changsha dialect is "new Xiang" (新湘語). It's just that within the Changsha dialect, there are further variations of "new-style" (新派) and "old-style" (老派). — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 04:51, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
