@Justinrleung Wondering about your edit here. All my sources show aa3 ngaa2. Isn't "aa3 aa2" just 懶音? --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 05:57, 5 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Mar vin kaiser: The general rule is that ng- only appears with tones 4, 5 and 6 (陽調), which seems to apply to this word as well. Most character dictionaries have aa2. There are some exceptions to this, especially with colloquial words like 啱. ng- with tones 1, 2 and 3 is likely some sort of hypercorrection. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 06:01, 5 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
= aa3 ngaa2 is 懶音 :P —Suzukaze-c (talk) 06:06, 5 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Justinrleung: I do wonder though. If a lot of people today do pronounce it with 懶音, shouldn't that reflect what is in Wiktionary? Since this dictionary isn't a prescriptive project in the first place lol. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 08:37, 3 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Suzukaze-c, Mar vin kaiser: I think it should only be reflected in the IPA since these are kind of predictable things in most cases. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 08:55, 3 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
