Derivation[edit]
How is this related to 엄마 (eomma, “mom, mommy”)? It looks like 엄마 (eomma) + suffixing element 니 (ni). ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 02:40, 28 June 2019 (UTC)

I cannot tell if 어머니 (eomeoni) is from 엄마 + 니, or if 엄마 (eomma) is from 어머니 - 니: is this an additive compound, or an elided abbreviation?
