Note, that according to Gignoux, Parthian ʾswrstn means “Syria” = Armenian Ասորիք (Asorikʻ), whereas Middle Persian ʾswrstn means “Babylonia” = Armenian Ասորեստան (Asorestan). According to Lieu, both mean “Babylonia”. The distinction is real and should be checked. --Vahag (talk) 14:02, 10 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Does he specifically mention any inscription? swryʾ, ʾswryʾ (line 10), and ʾswrstn (line 3) have been used in Parthian version of Shapur's SKZ inscription. Taking the context of the inscription into consideration, the first two refer to Roman regions/provinces. My source translates the first two as "Syria-(Seleucis with Commagene)" and "Syria-Coele", respectively, with exclamation marks, and translates ʾswrstn as "Assyria". --Z 22:23, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
For Parthian ʾswrstn he mentions the ŠKZ inscription, lines 1 (corrupt), 3, 16, and the Paikuli inscription, many lines. Checking the context of those attestations, it is indeed clear that the Iranian province of Babylonia is meant. Gignoux probably made a mistake. --Vahag (talk) 13:36, 12 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
