@माधवपंडित Hi! The dictionary says that there is a Kannada term naḍu that this term comes from. Would you know the exact form? DerekWinters (talk) 06:07, 24 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

@DerekWinters: The source is not a verb and neither is it specifically about obstruction; it refers to being in the middle; being between two things or being central. This root naḍu has given rise to a wide variety of nouns, adverbs and adjectives... so it will be wise to just give the root here. In any case, in Indian languages, "being in between" = "obstructing" as we also see in Hindi बीच में आना (bīc mẽ ānā, to intervene; to obstruct). -- माधवपंडित (talk) 12:57, 24 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
@माधवपंडित: I gave the definition in the Old Marathi dictionary, and added how I would translate નડવું (naḍvũ) from Gujarati. Thank you for adding the root! DerekWinters (talk) 18:01, 24 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
