Need English-language entry for the word "nominalizer." 71.66.97.228 05:42, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Can also be attached to a noun[edit]

Please note: this can also be attached to a noun, as in eʼelyaaígíí. 71.66.97.228 06:47, 7 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Good point. And can too, as in kááʼtsʼiní. I tried to allow for that by using the phrase "the [ígíí / í] suffix attached to a verb" -- but perhaps this needs rephrasing? -- Eiríkr Útlendi | Tala við mig 07:22, 7 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think you have to add anything, but if you did it would make the entry more balanced and informative. User:Stephen G. Brown would know how to phrase it, I suppose. I don't know if there would be any English equivalent as there is for when it is attached to verbs. 71.66.97.228 07:41, 7 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm still wading into diné bizaad, and haven't yet run across enough [noun]+(í / ígíí) to have any real sense of how these apparent nominalizers function when attached to words that are already nouns. I might write on Stephen's page to solicit his insight. Cheers, Eiríkr Útlendi | Tala við mig 07:56, 7 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
