Here is an example of the use of the word Hualien in 1903: on the map/in the map index. Similarly to Kinmen, the word Hualien may have existed before the 1940's. The name 花蓮 itself was in use pre-1895: [1]. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 16:43, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
