Rareness Until 1950[edit]

In my view, the final form of the etymology section for this word (and any word in general) should note when this word was first created. I create this comment to help in that process. It seems clear from the below sources that this word has existed since about the year 1900. However, at present, I haven't found an example usage of this word before 1950. This would lead to a big gap between the 'creation date' in the ideal etymology section for this word and date of the first example usage. My guess is that the most likely place anyone will find an example usage of the word 'Kinmen' earlier than 1950 will be in a publication related to the Battle of Kuningtou in late 1949, but it's possible there may have been some other usages before 1949.
