Pronunciation

[edit]

I can't find anything authoritative, but what I can find suggests the pronunciation is /nɛx.tæn/ or /nɛx.tɑn/ in (English) dialects that have /x/, and /nɛk.tæn/ or /nɛk.tɑn/ dialects that don't. - -sche (discuss) 17:11, 7 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I've added that information; is my presentation accurate? I've two questions: 1) How is the name stressed? My guess would be on the first syllable, but I wasn't going to assume that without knowing. 2) Those pronunciations look RP-ish. Would it be OK to change them to /nɛx.tan/, /nɛx.tɑːn/, /nɛk.tan/, /nɛk.tɑːn/, in line with changes to the typical UK accent? I'm so meta even this acronym (talk) 15:24, 8 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
