Ah thank you, @Fytcha! It might be a Northern German regionalism. There was this thread yesterday which I used as the basis for the article. Should I also add the two sources that I mentioned in my edit summary to Citations:Nupsi? (or in other words: I didn't know yet that there was a way to add citations!) --Rohieb (talk) 13:21, 9 July 2022 (UTC)

@Rohieb: The English Wiktionary requires that there are three uses in durably archived sources (see WT:ATTEST for more details). The two sources you've provided are only mentions of the word (see w:Use–mention distinction). Typically, you don't have provide three quotations as you're creating articles but if you don't, anybody is free challenge your entry (as @Jberkel did hereby) and then three uses have to be provided, otherwise it will deleted after some time (not earlier than a month). Typically, you'd search the term on Google Books (pro tip: add a very common but distinctive word from the respective language to filter out results in different languages; in English I typically add "the", in German "ist" etc.) and if there are usages that support the definition, you can either add them under the sense (see Hausdachziegel for how to format this in the code) or to the citations page (see the one I've created Citations:Nupsi). — Fytcha〈 T | L | C 〉 13:37, 9 July 2022 (UTC)

@Rohieb: If you click on Nupsi, there should be three buttons to the top left: "Entry", "Discussion", "Citations". The citation namespace is used as an alternative place to put the citations at, mostly if there are too many or if they belong to a sense that has not yet been created (especially if the entire entry has not yet been created). — Fytcha〈 T | L | C 〉 13:57, 10 July 2022 (UTC)

The usage note Mostly used when the described thing doesn't have a name, or when the name is not known to the speaker makes me think this is similar to English thingy or bit, but those might be too generic. Theknightwho (talk) 14:45, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
