ALWAYS wanted to know what the correct spelling and intepretation was for the difference between ANALYSIST AND ANALYST. IT appears to be that Analyst is the more modern version of the same thing. so in fact both are still correct and refer to someone who analyses data to form an interpretation, assessment or opinion.

Doing a Google Books search: this also seems to be a very common contemporary error for analyst by non-native speakers of English. But I created the entry as "archaic" for a reason; very possibly I found it in the old Webster dictionary that's about 100 years old. Equinox 05:38, 25 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
