@Mar vin kaiser Need help. I just moved this from anluwagi but apparently I found out that this spelling "anlowage" found in KWF Dictionaries is apparently only based from a Philippine Spanish word (anloague) based from an actual old Tagalog word "anluwagi". Does this count to the KWF rule where Spanish loans should be closer to their Spanish vowels? But this is a Spanish loan from a Tagalog word itself. Thanks. @Ysrael214: This is my take on this issue. In general, we're using the KWF spelling as a standard so that at least we can have some sort of uniformity or basis in which spelling we put the main entry (for example, aksiyon instead of aksyon). However, just like what we do in Chinese Hokkien entries (which also has a "spelling" issue, namely which characters are used), we often take what is most commonly used in literature. In the case of "anlowage" vs "anluwagi", I think the variance of this spelling isn't 100% covered under any rule given by the KWF. Looking at dictionaries, Leo English and Vicassan's use "anluwagi", JVP uses "anluagi" (it's a characteristic of JVP to not like using "W" and "Y", so pilosopia instead of pilosopiya). Looking at Google, "anluwagi" has 7000+ results, and "anlowage" only has 271. So obviously, "anluwagi" is the winner, and I do think it should still be the main entry. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 13:07, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
