Etyl?[edit]

If this is a noun created using a variation on nominalizing suffix , is the base root then aseez (to gossip)? -- Eiríkr ÚtlendiTala við mig 05:34, 27 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

No, -į́ isn’t a variant of . The stem would be -zį́. —Stephen (Talk) 12:18, 27 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Interesting. That's the same stem as the perfective sizį́; what connection is there semantically? And is aseezį́ ever used as a verb, or is it only used as a noun anymore? -- Eiríkr ÚtlendiTala við mig 15:52, 27 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Don’t know. I think User:Ewweisser has Analytical Lexicon of Navajo. Maybe he can find something about it in that. —Stephen (Talk) 04:23, 28 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
