The example sentence doesn't sound very natural to me, but I can't quite put my finger on why. The def itself seems O.K. to me. We can speak of the "attestation" of a phonetic or phonological feature (say, the lowering of a vowel), which doesn't quite mean that the sound itself appeared in records, but it's close enough. —RuakhTALK 14:31, 28 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
