@Fytcha You wrote that "automatic differentiation" is "not SOP; AD is a precise technical term that is much more specific than just any automatically performed differentiation". @Equinox: Not sure I understand you (and/or that quote) correctly, but that would just be another (possibly non-idiomatic) sense of automatic differentiation.
