"Bhearna baoil" is the lenition form of "bearna baoil" (click the link for an explanation of Irish initial consonant mutations). I don't think "bhearna bhaoil" occurs at all; if it does, it's just a variant of "bhearna baoil". —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 14:35, 30 January 2017 (UTC)

Actually, since bearna is feminine, I would expect this term to be bearna bhaoil in the nominative and bearna baoil in the genitive. —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 14:40, 30 January 2017 (UTC)

It ought to be sa bhearna bhaoil in that text, but sa bhearna baoil gets a lot of Google hits too. I don't know if it's simply a mistake or a dialectal variation. —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 13:05, 31 January 2017 (UTC)
