Possibly etymology and older sense?[edit]
John Camden Hotten's Slang Dictionary (1873) defines blowen as "originally a showy or flaunting female, now a prostitute only. In Wilts, a blowen is a blossom. German blühen, to bloom. In German, also, buhlen is to court, and Buhle, a sweetheart." Equinox ◑ 03:57, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
