@Ysrael214, Mlgc1998 Isn't it pronounced "budol"? To me, I hear it as "budol" and not "budel". Mar vin kaiser (talk) 01:46, 5 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Mar vin kaiser For me, it's a schwa so any is valid. Like traysikel and nudels, traysikol or nudols sometimes especially in Visayan. 𝄽 ysrael214 (talk) 02:07, 5 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Ysrael214: I think what goes is for Tagalog speakers that don't use the schwa sound, whether they say this with an /o/ or an /e/ sound. Because the sound can go either way, in my opinion, like the word "penis" would be "pi-nis", but "lettuce" would be "le-tus", even though the words have the same ending in American English. So I wanna know which one native Tagalog speakers (that don't speak English) say. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 02:14, 5 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Mar vin kaiser Hmm. apple is apol, portable may be portabol not portabel then again popsicle is papsikel, tricycle is traysikel
KWF dictionary has pronunciations for dle endings seem to be del, like hurdle = herdel but cable is keybol not keybel, so yea waiting for mlgc 𝄽 ysrael214 (talk) 02:32, 5 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Ysrael214: When you said that "hurdle" was shown as "herdel", I also checked "noodle" being "nudel", "handle" being "handel", and "doodle" being "dudel". So it could make sense that "boodle" is pronounced as "budel", but based on experience, I kinda think that native speakers say "budol", but I'm not 100% sure. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 02:36, 5 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Mar vin kaiser I agree though that some do say "budol payt" 𝄽 ysrael214 (talk) 02:38, 5 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Mar vin kaiser @Ysrael214 I hear "budel", but maybe once in a while, there's someone who'll say it like "budol" but it might be prone to be mistaken with budol if so, tho both seems to have at least website attestation, but from my end, google books attestation is only available for "budol payt". Is this a discussion tho about the Pronunciation section? If so, I don't mind if both pronunciations are there or how many else other people say it like. Mlgc1998 (talk) 12:37, 5 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Ysrael214, Mlgc1998: Do you guys hear "budel payt"? For me, I only hear "budol payt", and considering that searching Google for "budol payt" shows so many hits, while "budel payt" shows nothing, kinda tells me that Pinoys think of this word as pronounced as "budol" instead of "budel". What do you think? --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 04:11, 7 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Mar vin kaiser I really hear both depending on speaker. 𝄽 ysrael214 (talk) 05:43, 7 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Mar vin kaiser yeah, I hear "budel payt", people trying to say "boodle fight" in Taglish in their accent. There are "budel payt" results coming up on my Google All Search and Google Video Search, just not Google News and Google Books, but there's no results for "budol payt" as well on my Google News and just one on Google Books search on my end.
