There is some inconsistency with that substratum theory. If the Albanian and Bulgarian words are proven descendants of the Rumanian one, then the latter cannot derive from either Alb. or Bg. (because they would be no longer substratum words, but descendants of the Romanian substratum word instead). Or is the descendence of those two words from Romanian contested as well? The descendance of the Bulgarian and Albanian terms from Romanian is not contested. Only for the Albanian buzë some have looked for an alternative, native, origin, suggesting instead of the Romanian buză an (unattested) *br- "mouth" plus suffix -zë (and thus the Armenian, Lithuanian, etc. cognates). This hypothesis is highly uncertain. All info is from taken from the Romanian Etymological Dictionary (permalink.
