Traditional song

[edit]

@Equinox: are you sure that carol only refers to a traditional Christmas song? Exhibit A: "More than two decades after its original release, Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" continues to hit new heights. The 1994 carol rises 22-18 on the Billboard Hot 100 (dated Jan. 2, 2016), scoring its best rank ever on the chart."[1] Just thinking we should not be too prescriptive. — SGconlaw (talk) 02:48, 15 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Oh, maybe I'm wrong. Seems weird to me to call that a carol. Equinox 17:13, 15 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
I guess we can add "especially a more traditional one". — SGconlaw (talk) 09:42, 16 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
