Used to refer to sexual intercourse[edit]

This word is used by Sheldon cooper(cast of TV show- The Big Bang Theory) for referring to sexual intercourse. — This unsigned comment was added by 117.251.106.196 (talk) at 22:01, 21 April 2014‎.

It's coitus and what exactly do you want to discuss? Talk pages are used for discussions on the term concerned if it's related to an issue in the entry. Is there an issue? JamesjiaoTC 22:04, 21 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
I take the anon's comment as being motivated to plug a hole in the English Wiktionary's coverage, and that the reference to The Big Bang Theory was intended to provide supporting evidence for that; the spelling mistake is an understandable one. I've added a citation of the pilot episode of TBBT to coitus. Funnily enough, despite it being Sheldon who is the most renowned for using this word, the only two uses of coitus in the pilot are by Wolowitz; Sheldon earlier uses sex instead. There may be differences in this respect between the actual broadcast pilot and the earlier screenplay for it, but I can't be bothered to watch the episode to find out. — I.S.M.E.T.A. 15:28, 22 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
I've now added an English entry to coetus as a {{rare spelling of|coitus}}; that should help to preclude future confusion. — I.S.M.E.T.A. 16:22, 22 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
