Incorrect European Portuguese expression

[edit]

I don't think this entry is entirely correct. "Jogar fora" is an expression that is used in Brazil, but not in Portugal. The equivalent expression in Portugal would be "deitar fora o bebé com a água do banho". If no one opposes, I would like to redirect the content of this entry into that other one. I'm not sure, however, if this entry should be kept, since the use of "jogar fora" and "bebé" in the same phrase does not make sense. - Sarilho1 (talk) 15:07, 13 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Fytcha Thank you. I completely forgot about this. I moved the page to deitar fora a criança com a água do banho, since jogar fora is a Brazilian expression, but bebé is written with an European Portuguese spelling. Furthermore, in Portugal, criança is more widely used than bebé in that saying. The Brazilian counterpart jogar fora o bebê com a água do banho, still exists. I proposed this redirect for deletion because it's just a weird Frankenstein of two different variants of Portuguese. - Sarilho1 (talk) 09:37, 17 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
