Any idea what kind of cake was used? Any relation to cakes and circuses? --Itkilledthecat (talk) 20:44, 23 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Apparently the same kind as in confarreation. So something made of spelt. I bet people got divorced sometimes just because they felt like a cake. Equinox 20:53, 23 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Actually, I've just been to the library to do some research about this. It turns out that the cakes in question were originally in fact Black Forest gateaux. But then after a law was passed in 85 AD, this was changed to banana bread. --Itkilledthecat (talk) 21:35, 23 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
The phrase "you can't have your cake and eat it too" originated from ancient Roman Mormons. Not many people know that. SemperBlotto (talk) 21:38, 23 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Would "wife, give me cake" in Latin be "uxor, da me placentam!"? --Itkilledthecat (talk) 21:46, 23 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
