Mwani declension[edit]

@Metaknowledge, your new headword module seems to have an error on this page. —JohnC5 05:48, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, fixed. I keep forgetting that I made it differently from the Swahili module, and it seems that my forgetfulness emerges most when the word is the same as in Swahili. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 05:58, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. I'm glad you're taking on Mwani headword stuff. Are you also going to make inflection tables for the verbs? —JohnC5 06:06, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure. The task is complicated for several reasons, but the only one that is insurmountable for me is that I lack the technical ability. If you want to volunteer to help (and by no means should you feel pressured to do so), I think it would be better to make a module for Swahili first, which is both a simpler case and far more important. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 06:12, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I could help if you described what needed to be done. I only got interested in this topic because, after a little research, just happened to notice about that the 3sg.past.subj. of sowera would be kasowere. :PJohnC5 06:18, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That would be funny if it were true, but alas, there is no past subjunctive (at least in the prestige dialect). Anyway, I can describe it in detail, I just feel uncomfortable about roping you into a very involved, hairy task that you won't say no to because you're such a thoroughly decent person. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 06:39, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, darn. Fortunately aasowere is attested. I'd still be happy to help if you'd like. —JohnC5 06:51, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I thought that nobody else would bother researching Mwani conjugated forms, but I welcome the competition! —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 07:30, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'll be interested to see how long this competition goes before someone decides we should block WF.
But really, if you want help with Swahili, I'll gladly work on it. —JohnC5 07:36, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
WF will reïncarnate, as always — I just want him to update the board more promptly! I started the Swahili discussion elsewhere, and I greatly appreciate the offer of help. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 07:55, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
