Maybe note something on further v. farther:

No such word as "Farther"![edit]

Is this a spoof? Farther?! There is no such word as "Farther"! No, the word is further, and farther is just an accent, an odd pronunciation, surely? Citing usage, this article quotes from David Hume and Pride and Predujice, both British, but I have lived in Britain my whole life and I have never once heard, or read, of the word farther. Maybe, it's just an American thing, and has fallen so completely out of usage in the UK that most people don't know the word ever even existed. Farther, looks like a misspelling of father. Lol!

Certainly a word. Perhaps you're a bit young to have seen it. Check any other dictionary to confirm, or search Google Books. Equinox 14:28, 1 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
