Seems highly plausible but since it is a loanword I think we should verify it is not Spanglish slang or a transliteration of the pronunciation of ferry used as a loanword in lieuLucifer (talk) 20:35, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Three or more of the first ten of books.google.es's results seem to support this sense, for example [1] tries to explain what it claims is the difference between a transportador and a ferri. Mglovesfun (talk) 20:43, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
