flags on a plane?

[edit]

What use would airplanes have for colored flags? Is this just general military knowledge? Or am I missing something obvious? Urban Dictionary suggests this term originated from the US Navy, and perhaps that flying refers to the flag, not the person. Im not sure Im convinced of that either, though. I was surprised to learn that many women did serve in the US Navy during WW2, though; originally I was skeptical of that as well. Soap 00:52, 11 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
