I don't think the Swahili verb gairi exists. The entry was added by Tbot based on a translation but @Metaknowledge (our resident Swahili expert) removed the translation later. I consulted some dictionaries and can't find "gairi". I think this is a mixup with "ghairi". MartinMichlmayr (talk) 01:11, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Tbm, cited I think. Maybe the page should be converted into an “alternative spelling of ghairi”, though. MuDavid 栘𩿠 (talk) 03:38, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- Since you found citations, I guess it's legit, although I'd prefer input from @Metaknowledge who removed the translation. -- tbm (talk) 04:23, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- Until the day Meta comes back (or another expert chimes in), I guess we can only do with what we have. If you don’t actively oppose conversion to alternative spelling, this is resolved? MuDavid 栘𩿠 (talk) 02:46, 5 April 2023 (UTC)

If there’s no opposition, this is resolved and converted to alternative spelling. MuDavid 栘𩿠 (talk) 03:35, 10 May 2023 (UTC)
