That is the convential "alternative" pronunciation in essentially every English variety; the /ɡɛʔɪŋ/ mentioned in the article seems to be some weird middle ground that I've only ever heard among people under a certain age in the UK, and only ever in the UK, and it's always sounded a bit off to me, almost like a mockney pronunciation or something.
The traditional Cockney pronuncation is certainly /gɛʔɪn/ and not the /ɡɛʔɪŋ/ stated in the article. 81.96.30.40 22:49, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
