Verb[edit]

Is anyone aware of meaning for this word when used as a verb? As in (from the poem Strange Meeting by Wilfred Owen)..

It seemed that out of battle I escaped Down some profound dull tunnel, long since scooped Through granites which titanic wars had groined. — This unsigned comment was added by 209.148.175.155 (talk) at 06:04, 2 July 2008.

Swedish "gren"[edit]

How is the current situation concerning the relationship with Swedish gren (twig or crotch)? SAOB proposes a connection, as well as a connection with English grin and groan. [1] Wakuran (talk) 14:40, 18 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Referent is (probably) not what is meant[edit]

I’d say the word “such”:

”The surface formed by two such vaults.”

in description number 5 does not really refer to something in description number 4, even if the wording makes one think so. Maybe it refers to something in description number 3. In that case, either the wording of description number 5 or the order of the descriptions needs changing.Redav (talk) 20:12, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
