Pronunciation[edit]

Some online dictionaries give -kin rather than -kwin as an acceptable pronunciation of the last syllable. As it happens, the word occurs in the first line of the song "Helplessly Hoping" by Crosby, Stills & Nash; according to various YouTube videos that are probably copyvios, CSN and several people covering the song all use the -kin pronunciation.
