@Jberkel: It's an interesting phrase; I hadn't encountered it before. It seems its meaning is slightly different from that of its German calque: as I see it, it designates a time of the day at which a tryst can happen, not the tryst itself (i.e. a moment in time, not a duration).

Is lovers' hour a set phrase in English? Maybe it could work. PUC – 15:26, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

@PUC: Yes, it seems a bit different and more explicit than the French: not sure about Swedish herdestund, but German Schäferstündchen usually implies sex. I suggested lovers' hour because I saw it as a translation of the Brel lyric, not sure if it is a set phrase. – Jberkel 15:35, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
