@Mar vin kaiser Nevermind. I saw an entry in the Vocabulario de la lengua Tagala, which indicated it really came from BALA. (Although there are three himala entries but almost similar meaning, weird.)

HIMALA. pc. Admirarse con espanto. Mag. De que. Ipinag. No tiene mas: viene de Bala.

(HIMALA. pc. Admire with terror. Comes from Bala.)

And the only instances of Bala that can match this, considering the pronunciation are:

1. BALÁ. pc. pretend to do something

2. BALA. pc. Speak, Tell. Notify.

Another entry helps on determining what "himala" is supposed to literally mean:

BABALAG. pp. Terror. same with Himala, Mamanghan.

So it came from Bala. pc. of #2.

With that: himala is him+ bala ("say"), or literally to warn people, warning. Although it's balá in VDLLT, but balà in KWF Dictionaries (and Wiktionary as well). Isn't it balâ though? Like in babalâ, Also to make sense that himala is from balâ. Maybe balà is pronounced balá or balâ back then.
