How about this (the archaic meaning is hiszen): Miért rontanátok hát magatokat, holott jól nem tehet veletek, Ti sem O véle.

The dictionary says that the word holott is also an archaic adverb, meaning ahol, although I believe I've heard this in dialectal speach. --Panda10 (talk) 21:20, 23 October 2014 (UTC)

If it is a synonym of hiszen, then we could change the archaic meaning from "for" to "as".

Because it is a more accurate translation of hiszen, in my opinion – or maybe "since" is even better.
