tried searching archive.org for uses of inspo <2008, but there doesnt seem to be a way to do a text search and a date search in the same query, so the results are dominatred by >2008 fashion magazines. still it seems that inspo probably predates thinspo and that thinspiration might thus be a back-formation from thinspo. does anyone know of a better way to search? i know google books has a more fine-tuned search but their results are often unviewable. thanks, —Soap— 12:20, 30 July 2024 (UTC)

@Soap I can't get the search filters on archive.org to work properly for a few months now, however, it is possible to sort results by publication year. Einstein2 (talk) 16:36, 30 July 2024 (UTC)

OK thanks. i see isolated hits where it can be short for inspection ("we need to pass inspo") inspirational (as a noun), and Inspiration Week. I think I see a few where it means inspiration as well, but it seems like it was an ad-hoc coinage each time, with each author coining it on their own. Also some of the dates are clearly wrong, as there is a magazine supposedly from 1993 that refers to Instagram.
