Why is there a question mark? Can this entry be cleaned up? --Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 05:18, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Done Done. What else should be cleaned up here? Mathonius (talk) 05:23, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Appropriate links to nl.wikipedia and a citation would help a lot. Are Jip and Janneke common Dutch names? Is this like w:Dick and Jane? I'd like to nominate this for Foreign Word of the Day, so it needs to be good. Thanks! --Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 05:27, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Okay! I've added more information and two quotations. Apart from {{Wikipedia}}, all links point to en.wikipedia. Should they all link to nl.wikipedia instead? Janneke is a common Dutch name, but I think Jip is quite uncommon nowadays. I'm not sure what to do with Jip-en-Janneketaal, an alternative form and frequently used in books and on websites, but it's considered incorrect by the Taalunie (which more or less decides the official spelling et cetera). The 'correct' form has also been used in the Groot Dictee, an important Dutch/Belgian dictation, and there's even an explanation why "Jip-en-Janneketaal" is wrong on the website of the Groot Dictee. What would you advise? Mathonius (talk) 07:00, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
I haven't read Dick and Jane, but it looks like it's the same genre. Mathonius (talk) 07:06, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Just make it an alternative form and put a usage note over there, and a qualifier over here. Thanks!--Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 14:24, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! I've created Jip-en-Janneketaal. Mathonius (talk) 20:01, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
