Dubious Hungarian etymology & "twice-borrowed term" category[edit]

"Etymology

From German kompakt, from French compact, from Hungarian compactus."

The source cited by the entry ( http://www.tankonyvtar.hu/hu/tartalom/tinta/TAMOP-4_2_5-09_Idegenszo-tar/Idegenszo-tar_755_755.html ) indicates that French compact was borrowed from "lat compactus". Lat. stands for latin, not Hungarian.

Thanks for pointing out the error. Someone made a typo in the language codes, writing "hu|hu" where "hu|la" was meant. - -sche (discuss) 03:05, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
