-s plural[edit]

Is making -s plurals for Latin words like 'larva' really incorrect? As far as I know it is allowed, especially that lots of people form Latin irregular plurals incorrectly and without any knowledge of the language. - Filip 14:32, 11 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

It is fine, but may be "regarded by some as incorrect", as the usage note states. Equinox 03:53, 17 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Missing sense? ghost, spectre[edit]

Chambers 1908 also defines this word as "a ghost, spectre". That matches the etymology; perhaps it's obsolete or poetic in English? Equinox 03:53, 17 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
