Stated to be Liverpudlian for "fool" - citations, please. — Paul G 16:03, 27 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've update the article, the spelling seems to be meff so I've also moved it too. I've added a reference and I'm also looking for cites or further refs. I know this is a word since all the Scousers at work say it.--Williamsayers79 15:27, 3 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Etymology: meths?

[edit]

I wonder if the ety could come from meths, which tramps are stereotypically thought to drink instead of more expensive alcohol. Equinox 21:30, 6 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
