This usage may be very localized or dated, but I've definitely heard it and used it. I'll try to dig up a reference. Google is great for anything in the last decade or two, but not so good for older stuff. -dmh 17:33, 20 Apr 2004 (UTC)


"Moonshiner turn" gets several hits, mostly from one or two sources (notably a book entitled Getaway, apparently popular in certain circles). I'll move the main definition to moonshiner's turn, with the rare moonshiner turn and moonshiner U (which doesn't seem to be attested on the web but which one must admit makes perfect sense) pointing to it.

Not sure how this relates to or differs from a bootlegger's turn. I'll leave that for someone else. -dmh 17:42, 20 Apr 2004 (UTC)
