Currency of the adverb[edit]

Should the adverb sense be tagged with archaic, obsolete, regional or something like that? Ungoliant (falai) 15:50, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, archaic looks good to me --Gente como tú (talk) 15:27, 19 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

equivalent to "of need"[edit]

What's "equivalent" exactly mean in equivalent to "of need"? --Backinstadiums (talk) 18:30, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Is needs an adverb in if needs be? --Backinstadiums (talk) 16:23, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's a noun.--Simplificationalizer (talk) 00:30, 16 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Question is, however, if it's a plural or rather a genitive. Compare on the one hand German von Nöten, Dutch desnoods. On the other hand it could also be a partitive genitive, in the sense "if there be of need any". But apparently it's merely the plural. 88.64.225.1 20:03, 26 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
