I'm restoring the original wording, but it's obviously easily misread.
The sense I meant was
"The aspects ... which deal with light"
as opposed to
" ... device which deals with light"
Better wordings are welcome.

Optics in politics
Why was the edit regarding optics in a political context reverted? While it's not a totally common term, googling "bad optics" or "poor optics" will demonstrate that it is used in that context. --18.104.22.168 13:50, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
