palp

RFV-sense of the sense "A fleshy part of a fingertip or an act of touching." As above, has anyone other than Joyce used this? - -sche (discuss) 09:51, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The OED has this, marking it "rare" and with only one other cite, from 1984: W. Boyd Stars & Bars i. i. 11 "With the palp of a forefinger he squeezed moisture from his wiry blond eyebrows." Dbfirs 09:11, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
RFV-failed. I've moved the two citations to Citations:palp. - -sche (discuss) 02:42, 8 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Archiver note: previously, this met WT:ATTEST and thus would not have failed RFV; things changed in Wiktionary:Votes/pl-2014-03/CFI: Removing usage in a well-known work 3. --Dan Polansky (talk) 07:10, 21 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
