I see a distinction. A restless night is one that doesn't "allow or afford" rest, i.e. you cannot rest during it; no rest is "made available" to you (so to speak). But sense 4 says "deprived of rest". Nights cannot rest; only people and animals can rest; so one cannot deprive a night of rest. Perhaps it could be made clearer somehow.
