Possible missing sense[edit]

Here, regarding film censorship, the word seems to be used in a way we do not cover. It might be a powerful or successful entity (similar but not identical to high roller) or perhaps one who "rolls" cameras, i.e. produces films:

  • 2011, Drew Casper, Hollywood Film 1963-1976: Years of Revolution and Reaction (page cv)
    Big rollers generally got away with much more than independent producers with small films.
