A Jew[edit]

Magnet #216 (free download from the Friardale site) features a Jewish boy coming to Greyfriars school, and throughout the story, he is called "The Sheeny", with almost everyone looking down on him because he is Jewish. (80.31.144.16 06:34, 25 August 2015 (UTC))Reply

Re historical offensiveness[edit]

John Camden Hotten's Slang Dictionary (1873) remarked, "This word is used by both Jew and Gentile at the East-end of London, and is not considered objectionable on either side." Equinox 22:58, 5 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
